Bryant Park is located in midtown and is a great place to go for tons of fun, educational and, yes, FREE activities. Check out the list below. There’s sure to be something fun for anyone and everyone.

Free Movies - Bryant Park Summer Film Festival
Watch free classic movies on the big screen. Bring your own blanket and snacks and cuddle up with a friend!
Mondays June through August
Lawn opens at 5pm, movies start around 8pm

Word for Word
Summer also means enjoying fun summer reading. For all the bookworms out there, join authors and celebrities as they talk about their latest projects, plus poetry and book discussions.

After Work Music
Start the evening off right with local NYC musicians.
Wednesdays 6pm to 7pm May to Labor Day

Broadway in Bryant Park
The most popular shows on Broadway perform their hits brought to you by Lite FM.

Free Ice Skating
When the weather finally turns cold, head to Bryant Park for Free Ice Skating. But be warned, skate rentals and locks for the lockers do cost money. Bring your own skates and lock for a truly free experience.

Free Bird Tours
Believe it or not, New York is a great place to see birds. Join a guided bird tour to learn about the local and migratory birds that visit the park.

Accordions Around the World
Take a musical journey around the world with accordionists playing different styles throughout the park.

Free Fencing Lessons
Free fencing lessons for beginners.
Fridays 1pm to 2pm April through October

Free Tai Chi

Free tai chi classes for people of every level taught by Tai Chi Chuan Center.

Free Yoga 
Get your OM on with free Yoga classes for people of every age and level taught by Lululemon. Don’t forget your mat!

Free Knitting Lessons
Unfortunately, winter will return. Get a head start by making a cozy scarf or a pair of mittens with free knitting lessons for beginners. Sample yarn and needles provided.

Free Ping Pong
Tables, paddles and balls are provided free of charge. Get your Forest Gump on.

Free Juggling Lessons
Impress your friends at parties with your awesome juggling skills!

Bryant Park Shakespeare
See some of Shakespeare’s most famous plays performed in the park. 
Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, 7pm Hamlet: May 15-31; Love’s Labor’s Lost August 14-30

Modern Dance
See examples of the finest dance companies in the city.
Fridays 6pm-7:30pm in June

Free Dancing Lessons
Learn a new style of dance each week. All levels are welcome!
Wednesdays 6pm-7pm, followed by live music until 8:30pm May through June

Things to Remember
Please keep in mind these are free events. If you can get there early to claim a good spot, I would highly recommend it, especially for extremely popular events like the Film Festival and Yoga. Since there are usually lots of people, you may not get the one-on-one attention you crave from some of these classes. Think of it as an introduction to something you might really love.

Finally, since most of these events are outdoors, they are subject to weather. Check the Bryant Park website for exact locations and updated info on any of these events.
